Stephen (Steve) Shellenberger focuses primarily on a general civil practice with an emphasis in the areas of family, probate, commercial and consumer litigation, collections and personal injury for both individuals and small businesses. He has represented clients in mediations and litigation in a variety of jurisdictions throughout Texas. With that foundation, Steve routinely handles divorces, child custody cases, child support enforcement, contempt actions, modifications of support and access, probate, commercial and consumer litigation, collections and personal injury matters for both individuals and small businesses.
Steve has enjoyed significant time in solo practice as well as time with the Drug Enforcement Administration, as a prosecutor for the City of Arlington and now as a Partner with Shackelford Bowen McKinley & Norton LLP. Steve has served as counsel for credit unions, small to medium size businesses and individuals for most of his career and has assisted the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas with the successful prosecution of drug and money laundering organizations operating in the North and East Texas Areas.
Steve received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Southern Methodist University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics from the University of Texas at Dallas. He was a member of the S.M.U. Student Bar Association, belonged to the Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity and was an Associate Justice, Moot Court. Mr. Shellenberger is a member of the State Bar of Texas, a member of the State Bar of Texas Family Law Division and the Dallas Bar Association.
