About Lucas Peterson
Lucas Peterson is an associate in the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group. Lucas has advised clients from pre-suit through appeal in an extensive range of commercial disputes, including matters involving corporate governance and control, complex transactions, employment, trade secret misappropriation, copyright and trademark infringement, and construction.
Lucas has represented clients in various industries, including aerospace, commercial real estate, energy, financial services/banking, telecommunications, and transportation. He also represents individuals in their capacity as investors in private companies and partnerships and in disputes involving trusts and estates.
Lucas has substantial trial experience, including as first chair, and has briefed and argued many dispositive motions and issues. He also regularly assists clients in litigation avoidance measures such as revising and clarifying governing agreements and contracts.
Recent Representative Experience
- Obtained summary judgment dismissal of claims alleging fraudulent procurement of contract pertaining to intellectual property rights, leading to favorable settlement on client’s counterclaim that included attorneys’ fees.
- Obtained six figure judgment and charging order against commercial real estate investor after bench trial of matter involving several complex secured transactions.
- Obtained voluntary nonsuit of alleged beneficial shareholder’s claims against corporation after hearing on contested shareholder status.
- Obtained ten figure concession in settlement negotiations after presenting and obtaining favorable rulings on pre-trial filings in trial court.
