Shackelford, McKinley & Norton partners Joshua Northam and Elizabeth Swan and associate Emilie East have been selected for the 2026 edition of Lawdragon 500 Leading Family Lawyers.
This is the fourth Lawdragon selection for Mr. Northam for his Family Law and domestic litigation practice. He represents clients involved in divorces, child custody cases, child support enforcement, and contempt actions and modifications of support and possession. He also handles custody disputes involving international jurisdictional challenges, grandparents’ rights, and same-sex marriage issues.
Ms. Swan is a three-time honoree for her Family Law litigation and appeals work. She regularly represents clients in cases involving divorce, division of property, child custody, child support, marital agreements, mental illness and substance abuse claims, and family violence protective orders. She also handles business and asset valuation and property claims.
This is the first selection for Ms. East. Recognized for her Family Law and probate litigation work, her practice focuses on Family Law, and probate and general civil litigation involving all aspects of divorce, including division of property, child custody and child support matters.
