Michelle Morgan Named to Texas Health Resources Foundation Board of Trustees

Texas Health Resources Foundation has selected Shackelford partner Michelle Morgan to serve on its board of trustees.

The board is comprised of more than a dozen practicing physicians, community leaders, and business and legal professionals throughout the state. 

Texas Health Resources Foundation strives to enhance the delivery of quality patient care to sustain the long-term fiscal viability of Texas Health Resources, one of the largest faith-based, nonprofit health systems in the United States. The foundation raises funds that support clinical, educational and research programs across the THR system. 

“If you’ve lived in Texas, even for a short period of time, it’s likely that you or someone you know has taken advantage of Texas Health Resources services,” said Morgan. “I’ve personally been a beneficiary of their excellent care, so it’s my honor to give back to Texas Health Resources as a member of their board of trustees.” 

Board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Morgan works closely with executives and human resources professionals to minimize the risk of employment disputes. 

Her preventive measures include training and counseling on employment laws and regulations. If employment disputes arise, she works closely with her client and litigation team to craft a strategy aimed at a quick, decisive win.

Her labor and employment practice often intersects with health care; she counsels her clients on health-related employment matters, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and the Pregnancy Discrimination Act. She also routinely works with dentists, psychologists, and others in the health care field in managing employment matters in their practices. She also represents clients in administrative matters involving government agencies, which includes the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Department of Labor (DOL), the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA).
