An Article in the Business Travel News indicates that the TSA intends to roll out its Secure Flight program this August using two undisclosed airlines. It isn’t clear whether this will be operational testing or whether the TSA is still in the process of confirming viability of the program. Critics abound and are raising the same privacy and oversight issues that sank the CAPPS II ship. However, before the system can be implemented on a wide scale basis, the Government Accountability Office still needs to sign off. According to GAO, such an approval appears to be a ways off.
