The DHS inspector general report issued March 25, 2005 criticizing the TSA for its handling of airline passenger information is available online. To read the report, click here. The report is very detailed and in addition to criticizing the “misinformation” disseminated by the TSA in response to privacy concerns, it also provides 9 recommendations for the TSA to implement to address its shortcomings. It will be interesting to see how the TSA responds to the criticism contained in the report and whether it is able to successfully adopt the recommendations as it proceeds with testing of its Secure Flight program.
