Lauren has over a decade of experience as an entertainment attorney in both transactional and dispute resolution and general business litigation matters. Lauren handles a wide variety of transactional entertainment matters on behalf of artists, songwriters, managers, content creators, entertainment companies, and corporate entities. Lauren routinely drafts, reviews, and negotiates entertainment agreements including license agreements, rights of publicity, general releases, distribution agreements, publishing agreements, recording agreements, artist development agreements, publishing and master catalog sale agreements, international distribution agreements, joint ventures, live performance agreements and related touring agreements, and management agreements, among others. She also handles matters related to the protection of copyrights and trademarks. Lauren also handles online media issues and crisis management for individuals and entertainment companies. Lauren has served as an expert witness on matters related to publishing and master recording agreements. Lauren has successfully tried jury and non-jury cases in state and federal court, and excels at handling a variety of complex litigation matters and sophisticated entertainment and business issues, regularly representing both individuals and corporations, and is a Rule 31 Mediator.
Lauren has been named by Billboard as one of the country’s “Top Music Lawyers” for the last three years, and has been recognized numerous times as one of those “In Charge” in the entertainment business by MusicRow Magazine. Lauren was also named one of Nashville’s “Top 40 Under 40” by the Nashville Business Journal in 2018, and “Best of the Bar” for entertainment and media law from 2016-2019.
Lauren is a member of the Recording Academy, the Academy of Country Music, The Country Music Association, and the Copyright Society of the South, and is a regular guest speaker for conferences throughout the United States on matters pertaining to the music industry and intellectual property.
Lauren is a long-time resident of Nashville, Tennessee and lives there with her husband and three daughters. Lauren enjoys playing the fiddle in her spare time, and is an avid bluegrass fan.
