Discover Shackelford’s Partner Martha Hardwick Hofmeister Work With Bar None
Enjoy the hidden talents of DFW-area legal professionals at Bar None! It’s a musical fundraiser for law school scholarships.
Partner Martha Hardwick Hofmeister is well known in Dallas legal circles for her multi-decade work on an annual fundraiser for the Dallas Bar Foundation: the Bar None show. Bar None began in 1986, when Martha was a baby lawyer drafted to direct a legal follies-type show. Bar None is a collection of skits and songs which pokes fun at the practice of law and current events; the show is written, produced, choreographed, directed, and performed by lawyers and judges. In its 38-year history, Bar None has raised profits in excess of $2.3 million to fund the Sarah T. Hughes diversity scholarships at the three North Texas law schools. Martha is the first and only director of Bar None, which was forced to go dark for the last three years (two years of pandemic and one year of theater renovation), but is back live this week. As part of the publicity for the 2023 show, Where the Law Dads Sing, Martha and her husband, writer and cast member Kent Hofmeister, were interviewed by NBC5.
