Josh Christopher is a member of Shackelford’s Business Litigation and Insurance Practice Groups and primarily counsels clients in a broad range of civil disputes. His trial practice includes energy litigation, insurance representation, and complex healthcare disputes. Josh has handled cases for clients in the oil and gas, healthcare, insurance, and commodity trading sectors across the United States and before arbitral institutions, including serving as first and second chair trial and arbitration counsel.
Josh is experienced in all phases of litigation and pre-suit investigations, having taken over 100 depositions and tried four cases to verdict while serving as second-chair trial counsel. Josh additionally served as first-chair trial counsel on two pro bono asylum matters and provides ongoing pro bono counsel to various nonprofits and NGOs throughout Texas.
Josh recently secured a very favorable arbitration award as second-chair arbitration counsel for a national healthcare institution involved in a breach of contract, fraud, and unfair practices act dispute, and previously obtained a significant arbitration award in an insurance fraud and TPPA dispute before the AAA. Thompson Reuters has recognized Josh as a “Texas Rising Star” in Business Litigation in 2020 and 2021. Outside of work, Josh is an avid runner and triathlete.
