About Donald L. Cunningham, Jr.
Donnie’s practice is transactional in nature and involves representing developers in affordable housing transactions. He has experience with limited partnership agreements and various contracts including construction and permanent loan documents. He also has served as bond counsel, underwriters counsel and trustee counsel on tax exempt and taxable bond transactions totaling billions of dollars.
Donnie has also worked in other areas including M&A, corporate, tax related to affordable housing and tax-exempt bonds. He has also worked on several rate-payer backed utility revenue bonds for hurricane damage and stranded costs. He has represented LIHTC lenders on loans for affordable housing developers. He has worked on transactions in many different states in his career. He sees the close relationship between Louisiana and Texas as a natural extension of Shackelford and the growth of its areas of expertise.
