Carson Epes Steinbauer is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She is recognized by her peers and featured in D Magazine as a Top Lawyer under 40 (D Magazine 2004) and has been selected for the list of Texas Rising Stars five consecutive years (Thomson Reuters 2005-2009). Only 2.5% of Texas attorneys are chosen for the Rising Stars list each year. Carson also holds an AV Preeminent rating (the top rating) by Martindale Hubbell for her legal ability and ethical standards, Carson writes and speaks on complex legal issues throughout the state.
Carson’s extensive legal background sets her apart from her peers. Carson gained significant trial experience as a criminal prosecutor in Bexar County zealously prosecuting domestic violence and other family-oriented crimes. “I developed a very deep understanding of how family conflict affects both children and parents,” Carson says.
After serving as a prosecutor, Carson then earned big firm training at Jackson Walker, LLP, one of the oldest and largest Texas-based law firms. Since 1997, Carson has dedicated her practice exclusively to family law.
Drawing on the skills she acquired as a prosecutor and her in-depth knowledge of family law, Carson is a formidable opponent in every case. As a wife and the mother of two young children, Carson understands and is empathetic to the negative effect contentious family law matters have on a family as a whole. She is compassionate about helping clients in crisis identify what is most important to them, minimize conflict, and navigate the often painful emotional and financial burdens associated with family law matters to achieve the best possible outcome.
While highly trained in the courtroom and ready to aggressively advocate for her clients, Carson sees the value in mediation and collaborative law and strongly encourages parties to settle out of court when it is in their best interests and that of their children. Whatever the client’s need, Carson has the complete skill set of a seasoned family law attorney both in and out of the courtroom.
“If you have family law issues, let us know how we can help,” Carson says.
